On Sept. 14, Blue & Gold was in North Carolina to see Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic face Charlotte (N.C.) Providence, with the headliner of the contest being class of 2024 tight end and Notre Dame commit Jack Larsen.

And Larsen was key in leading Catholic to a 29-22 victory. He caught 6 passes for 96 yards, which was 86 percent of his team’s passing yardage. He also played defensive end in third-down situations and had a big strip sack that led to a Catholic touchdown in the first half.

“I thought I had a solid performance,” Larsen told Blue & Gold after the game. “We have to work on some things, but we played well. We got the momentum at the end of the game, and our team really came together.”

In his first five games of the 2023 season, Larsen hauled in 16 receptions for 244 yards and 6 touchdowns.

“I’d say my run after catch,” said Larsen when asked on what he’s improved on from his junior to senior year. “I pride myself on being hard to tackle. I’m always working on my blocking and overall speed and explosiveness.”

Larsen has been committed to Notre Dame since June 24, 2022. All is going well with his pledge, as he readies to enroll in January.
