WATCH: Notre Dame football recruiting show with Mike Singer

In a weekly YouTube live show at Blue & Gold, recruiting insider Mike Singer gives the latest on Notre Dame’s recruiting efforts.
Singer discusses the latest headlines in Irish football recruiting and takes questions live from the YouTube chat.
Blue & Gold first had the news that Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy’s Kaleb Beasley, the nation’s No. 133 overall player and No. 12 cornerback per the 2024 Industry Ranking, will be visiting Notre Dame this spring. How important is this news?
On the other side of the news spectrum, it was reported that Saline (Mich.) High’s CJ Carr, an Irish commit who ranks as the No. 48 prospect and No. 6 quarterback according to the 2024 Industry Ranking, is going to Texas A&M this weekend. But there’s important context to understand, and Singer breaks that down.

On Notre Dame’s pursuit of Kaleb Beasley
“It’s definitely a notable one, folks. Blue & Gold broke this news Thursday morning. We saw him camp at Notre Dame in June of 2021 for Irish Invasion, and I thought he was an absolute freak show. To me, I thought he was showing that he was a five-star type of prospect. At the cornerback position, he’s extremely impressive — fluid and lockdown ability. I really liked what I saw.
“He had a great visit from what I understand, too, but that’s the last time he got on campus. He ended up committing to Tennessee in October, even though I had a prediction for him to end up with the Irish. But he picked Tennessee, which was a little bit of a surprise in terms of the timing but not so much the destination. Tennessee was always a big contender.
“But a commitment does not mean it’s a done deal … I’m told he has three visits locked in for this spring, and his trip to Notre Dame is April 1. He’ll be at Tennessee March 25 and Auburn March 27, as we’ve reported at Blue & Gold.”
