When Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb’s Teddy Jarrard committed to Notre Dame in July, he did so after just one visit to South Bend. He visited campus on June 5 and secured his spot in the 2027 class several weeks later.

Jarrard, who ranks as the No. 173 overall player and No. 12 quarterback in America according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, returned to campus this past Saturday for the first time since he committed, and it was his first game day experience at Notre Dame.

The Irish fell 41-40 against Texas A&M, but that didn’t dampen his visit.

“It was great,” Jarrard told Blue & Gold. “I really got to experience the game day environment. I was talking to the recruiting guys like Carter Auman and Justice Bathas, and they said it’s the biggest atmosphere they’ve had there in years.

“It was cool to be a part of that and meet the commits who will be my future teammates. I also got to build connections in the 2027 class — trying to get some guys to commit since I’m the lead recruiter.

CJ Carr had a great game. It was a fun game to watch. The student section was awesome; the fans were amazing.”

Recruits don’t get as much face time with coaches during a gameday trip compared to an offseason visit, but while hanging out at the indoor practice field, the Irish staff stopped by to greet them.

“I got to talk with everyone,” Jarrard said. “It was good catching up and checking in. It was great to see them again and have simple conversations.”

The four-star recruit added that he keeps in contact with Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman, Mike Denbrock and Gino Guidugli multiple times per week.

Jarrard had his recruiting hat on during the visit.

“I talked with DJ Jacobs a lot; he’s a great friend. Monshun Sales — the No. 1 receiver in 2027. I spent some time with him. I talked with Quentin Burrell and all the receivers. I spent a good amount with the commits as well.”

Jarrard added that he really enjoyed meeting members of the 2026 class, including tight ends Preston Fryzel and Ian Premer and wide receiver Kaydon Finley. He got to meet a couple of the Irish offensive line commits at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge in June and talked with them, and he’s friends with receiver commit Bubba Frazier, who he’s played 7v7 ball with.

North Cobb is 3-2 so far this season, and Jarrard has completed 74 of 120 passes for 850 yards with 6 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. He’s also carried the ball 17 times for 100 yards as well.
