Newsstand: Where Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love stands in latest On3 Heisman Poll
In a huge win for the Fighting Irish over USC, star Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love had 24 carries for 228 rushing yards and a touchdown while also catching five passes for 37 receiving yards. Two days later, Love made his debut in the weekly On3 College Football Heisman Poll at No. 10.
Each week, On3 polls its top national analysts and experts for their take on the race for the Heisman. Voting is done by Andy Staples, Ari Wasserman, Chris Low, Brett McMurphy, Pete Nakos, J.D. PicKell and Charles Power.
In recent weeks, Love has emerged as a major contender in the Heisman discussion. Not only does he seem very likely to receive an invitation to the ceremony in New York on Dec. 13, but his Vegas odds to win the prestigious award are also improving.
Love jumped to No. 3 in the On3 Heisman Poll after a strong performance against Pittsburgh, which included an impressive 56-yard touchdown. And in the latest poll that published on Monday, Love remained in the No. 3 spot.

Quote of the day
“Yeah, he is a ascending player, right? And the more he’s out there, the better he continues to play. He’s preparing in a really positive way. I think the greatest thing Kyng did for Madden was they hung out a lot. And so Madden learned how to prepare in a similar way that Kyng did.
“But he’s getting better. He’s getting better at all facets of playing the linebacker position. And he’s doing a really good job, (including what) we’re asking him to do on special teams. And so his role will increase, as well as Kahanu Kia’s, and as well as some of those other guys that have been playing.”
