Former Notre Dame football quarterback Steve Angeli is giving his best effort to make the Irish regret not giving him the starting job after spring ball. And he’s doing a good job of it.

Through the first three games for his new team, the Syracuse Orange, Angeli leads the nation in passing yards (1,072) and passing yards per game (357.3). He also ranks fifth in completions per game (26.67) and 14th in passing touchdowns (8). Those marks wouldn’t be possible without his Week 3 performance.

Here is how Angeli and seven other Notre Dame players who entered the transfer portal this year performed last week.

QB Steve Angeli (Syracuse … 2-1): Completed 23-31 passes for 382 yards and 5 touchdowns in a 66-24 win over Colgate. Angeli was not sacked in the win.

OL Ty Chan (Connecticut … 1-2): For the first time this season, Chan did not start for the Huskies in a 44-41 loss to Delaware (2-1). However, Chan did play 11 snaps at right guard and allowed a quarterback hit.

WR Deion Colzie (Miami Ohio): The RedHawks (0-2) had a bye week. Colzie has 2 catches for 20 yards on the season.

OL Pat Coogan (Indiana … 3-0): Started at center and played 50 of 68 snaps in a 73-0 win against Indiana State (2-1). He did not allow any quarterback pressures in 31 pass block snaps.

DL Tyson Ford (California … 3-0): Has yet to appear in a game this season … The Golden Bears beat Minnesota (2-1) 27-14 at home.

EDGE Aiden Gobaira (James Madison … 1-1): The Dukes (1-1) had a bye week. Gobaira has 3 tackles through two games.

CB Jaden Mickey (Boise State): The Broncos (1-1) had a bye week. Mickey has 7 tackles, 1 stop for loss, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery through two games.

OL Sam Pendleton (Tennessee … 2-1): Started at center and played all 74 snaps in the Vols’ 44-41 overtime loss to Georgia (3-0). Pendleton surrendered 2 quarterback hurries. His Pro Football Focus pass-blocking grade (31.3) was the worst among all Power Four centers in Week 3.

Tennessee rushers gained 31 yards and scored 2 touchdowns on 10 carries (3.1 yards per carry) when running middle left or middle right, which he was primarily responsible for.

OL Rocco Spindler (Nebraska … 3-0): Started at right guard and played 40 of 70 snaps in a 59-7 victory over Houston Christian (1-2). He did not give up any pressures.

WR Jayden Thomas (Virginia … 2-1): Played 17 snaps in a 55-16 win against William & Mary (1-2). He did not have any catches or targets, but did handle two punts, both of which he fair caught. Thomas has also been contributing to punt coverage and kick return.

LB Kennedy Urlacher (USC … 3-0): Did not appear on defense in a 33-17 victory over Purdue (2-1). However, he did contribute to the kick coverage and punt return teams, but did not record any stats.

DE Andrew Yanoshak (Dayton): The Flyers (1-1) had a bye week. Yanoshak, who played tight end for Notre Dame, has three tackles on the season.

K Zac Yoakam (Houston … 3-0): Had 9 kickoffs that totaled 571 yards, resulting in 1 touchback and one that went out of bounds in a 36-20 win over Colorado (1-2).
