It’s time to dust off that Peacock subscription, Notre Dame football fans.

The Fighting Irish’s annual Blue-Gold Game kicks off at 1 p.m. ET at Notre Dame Stadium. If you’re not in attendance, the only way to watch it live is with a premium subscription to Peacock — NBCUniversal’s streaming service (fans can also watch the game on-demand on Fighting Irish TV after the livestream.). The 2021 Notre Dame home opener against Toledo was also broadcasted exclusively on Peacock.

Signing up is simple. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do so.

How to sign up for a subscription to Peacock

  1. Go to PeacockTV.com on a web browser.
  2. Scroll to the bottom until you see “A Plan for Everyone. Pick Yours. Change plans any time.”
  3. You’re going to need a Premium account, which costs $4.99 per month. A Premium subscription opens up the ability to watch live sports, such as the Notre Dame Blue-Gold Game.
  4. Click the “$4.99/mo.” module and follow the subsequent steps. The first page requests information such as your email address, a password, first and last name, gender, birthday and zip code. The following page requests a payment of $4.99 for the first month.
  5. New subscribers can cancel immediately after purchase and still watch the Blue-Gold Game. Once you pay $4.99, you have a month’s worth of access to Peacock.
  6. The link to the Blue-Gold Game stream is already live here. You can find it on Peacock’s website under the sports tab at the top. You can also access Peacock via apps on smart TVs with services such as Roku, Amazon Fire TV Stick and Apple TV.

Notre Dame Blue-Gold Game notes

If you are planning on signing up for Peacock to view the progress of Notre Dame sophomore quarterback Tyler Buchner, you are in for a rude awakening Saturday afternoon. Buchner is out with an ankle injury he suffered going down a set of stairs Tuesday.

The Irish held a draft Wednesday to form the rosters of the Blue and Gold teams. Junior quarterback Drew Pyne will play QB for both teams to start. Sophomore Ron Powlus III will take over as the Blue team’s signal-caller, and early enrollee freshman Steve Angeli will be given the reins to the Gold team at some point.

The rest of the Blue-Gold Game rosters can be found here.
