Newsstand: Will Notre Dame’s Kyle Hamilton fall outside the top 10 of the NFL Draft?

Many mock drafts have Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton going in the top five of the 2022 NFL Draft, including ESPN’s Todd McShay and Mel Kiper, who listed him as going No. 2 to the Detroit Lions during their YouTube live show Monday.
But at the same time, there’s discussion from ESPN NFL Draft Analyst Matt Miller about Hamilton taking a tumble.
“I love Kyle Hamilton, but this does seem to be the case following combine and pro day,” Miller tweeted with regards to Hamilton falling out of the top 10. “I think we/I/the media are higher on him than what I’m hearing from teams the last week. It only takes one, but reality is more likely outside top 10 picks.
“And this is just me prepping you for if/when it happens. He’s ranked in my top five. I harbor no Notre Dame hate. It’s just a reality given positional value and testing results.”
It’s quite the interesting situation, as Hamilton appears to be arguably the most talented player in the draft (TheDraftNetwork.com even lists him as such), but his positional value may hold him back.

Tweets of the day
No, it’s not a tweet, but just in case you somehow missed it, Detroit Martin Luther King five-star quarterback Dante Moore arrived in South Bend Monday for a two-day visit. Watch his arrival in the video below.
Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard South’s Cam Williams, the No. 159 player and No. 27 wide receiver per the 2024 On3 Consensus, tweeted Monday night that he’ll be visiting Notre Dame this weekend. He’ll be a part of a strong visitor weekend for the Irish.
Hamilton tweeted out that he’d go head-to-head in an Oklahoma drill against Jerome Bettis to promote his podcast, but after the goal was reached, Hamilton rescinded his promise. Of course, this was all in good fun and was just a joke.
Quote of the day
“I knew I’d get over 30, but when I actually got to 30, I didn’t know where I was until someone yelled out ‘30!’ I was like, ‘Damn, I’m pretty burnt out right now.’ So I just did one more to get 31.”
