Newsstand: Former Notre Dame defensive lineman joins LSU coaching staff

A former fan favorite Notre Dame Fighting Irish football player is getting back in the game by way of coaching. Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa has joined the LSU coaching staff per multiple reports this week. Tagovailoa-Amosa will be a defensive end graduate assistant according to his X bio.
Yes, he has reunited with former Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly down on the bayou.
Tagovailoa-Amosa played in 50 games for the Irish from 2017 through 2021. He appeared in all 13 of the Irish’s games as a true freshman before only playing in two as a sophomore because of a broken foot. He returned for his junior season and started 12 of the Irish’s 13 games that year.
In the Irish’s run to the College Football Playoff in the 2020 season, Tagovailoa-Amosa started 10 of 12 games. He was a team captain as a graduate student in 2021. He was emotionally told of his captaincy on a video call while he was in Hawaii for his father’s funeral less than a month before the start of the season.

Tagovailoa-Amosa tallied 79 total tackles, 17.0 of which were for a loss, with 5.0 sacks over the course of his entire college career. His shining moment was a fumble recovery returned 70 yards for a touchdown to cap off a 55-0 Irish victory over Georgia Tech on Notre Dame’s senior day.
