Newsstand: Notre Dame football hires recruiting analyst
Notre Dame football has become a large operation under head coach Marcus Freeman. The operation got even larger this week.
The Fighting Irish hired a new recruiting analyst in a full-time role.
“I am proud to announce I have accepted a full-time position as a Recruiting Analyst for Notre Dame football!” Becca Sites wrote in a social media post. “I am very blessed to take over this role & excited for this next chapter!”
The Irish finished No. 11 in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking Team Rankings. They had been inside the top 10 for most of the cycle. With service rerankings in the last few weeks, they just fell out. It’s still a loaded class that comes with a lot to be excited about.
The goal for Freeman, Sites and everyone else involved with Fighting Irish recruiting is to keep bringing in the right recruits that don’t just look good in subjective rankings but also do well for the culture in place in working toward championships.

Hidalgo isn’t the only easy one to root for on the Irish women’s basketball team. Head coach Niele Ivey has a group that might be hitting its stride at the right time.
The Irish men’s lacrosse team will begin its title defense in a week. New to the team: former Irish quarterback Tyler Buchner and current Irish wide receiver Jordan Faison.
Quote of the day
“Being such like a larger frame, I will watch smaller receivers, how quickly and how much easier they’re able to navigate themselves. And I’ve seen big guys do it, too. I think just being more clean and crisp. I tend to round a lot of routes just because of my frame. I don’t know how to use it yet.”
