Notre Dame point guard Hannah Hidalgo makes 2025 FIBA AmeriCup Team USA roster

Notre Dame point guard Hannah Hidalgo is getting another dose of international basketball. The Fighting Irish junior qualified for the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup Team USA roster.
Hidalgo participated in three days worth of team trials in Colorado Springs this week. She was one of 12 players who were selected to the team out of a pool of 21 trial attendees. The USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team Committee chose the team members.
Here’s a look at all of the selections.

Team USA opens tournament play against host national Chile and continues it against Colombia, Puerto Rico and Mexico in Group B. Group A consists of El Salvador, Canada, Argentina and Brazil.

Duke’s Kara Lawson will serve as the USA’s head coach. She’ll be joined by assistants DeLisha Milton-Jones of Old Dominion, Jennie Baranczyk of Oklahoma and court coaches Jim Flanery of Creighton and Robyn Fralick at the trials.
Perhaps the quirkiest development, from a Notre Dame perspective, for this tournament is Hidalgo and former Notre Dame teammate Olivia Miles playing together after Miles decided to finish her Fighting Irish career and end her time as a collegiate student-athlete as a TCU Horned Frog.
Hidalgo and Madison Booker of Texas, though, are publicly great friends and will surely enjoy playing together. Booker tried playfully (and rather sarcastically) recruiting Hidalgo to Texas early in the offseason. Hidalgo stood firm with Notre Dame. She’s returning to lead a much different looking Irish roster in the 2025-26 season.
This Team USA roster, meanwhile, is completely stacked. No matter who’s on the floor with Hidalgo, Miles included, the Americans will be the favorite to win the tourney. If they do, they’ll punch a ticket to the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin next summer.
