Notre Dame point guard Hannah Hidalgo is headed to Colorado Springs to take part in the 2025 USA Basketball Women’s AmeriCup Team Trials. She was one of 21 prospective players selected by a national team committee to take part in the trials, which begin June 17, all of whom have a chance to make the tournament roster.

Should Hidalgo make the cut, which will whittle down to 12 players, she’ll travel to Santiago, Chile, for the FIBA AmeriCup. It takes place June 28 through July 6. It wouldn’t be Hidalgo’s first taste of international basketball; she won gold as part of the U17 and U19 Women’s World Cup teams in 2022 and 2023. She earned the honor of 2023 USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year.

Hidalgo is coming off a record-breaking season, averaging 23.8 points as a sophomore at Notre Dame. Nobody in the history of Fighting Irish women’s basketball has ever averaged more points in a single season. In all, Hidalgo owns 23 Notre Dame records in just two seasons played so far.

Only four players in NCAA women’s basketball history have ever been named First Team Associated Press All-Americans in the first two seasons. Hidalgo is one of them.

Here are all of the players who are looking to earn a roster spot for the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup. Interestingly, Hidalgo will be back on the floor with former teammate and Notre Dame record setter in her own right, Olivia Miles.
