Giovanna Burress, and the offer she reported from Notre Dame women’s basketball coach Niele Ivey on Saturday, represent the direction Ivey is reimagining the Irish to embrace in the transfer portal era. That is rededicated to recruiting elite high school players. The 5-foot-10 rising sophomore guard also happens to be the younger sister of Notre Dame freshman wide receiver Elijah Burress and the daughter of former 12-year NFL veteran wideout Plaxico Burress. And a headliner-grabber in her own right.
