The No. 19 Notre Dame women’s basketball team (20-6, 11-4 ACC) headed south to Atlanta on Thursday for a top-20 matchup against No. 16 Georgia Tech (19-7, 10-5), and the Irish women squeaked out a 72-66 overtime win.

It was all Notre Dame early as they built a 16-point lead with just under three minutes before halftime. The Yellow Jackets stormed back, tying the game at 59 with 1:36 left in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to top the visiting opponent.

All five Notre Dame starters had at least 10 points, and guard Olivia Miles led the way with 18 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals. Senior guard Lotta-Maj Lahtinen led Georgia Tech’s scoring efforts with 24 points.

The Irish now sit in the No. 4 spot in the ACC. The top four teams get a double-bye in the ACC Tournament, which begins March 2.

Notre Dame’s two remaining games are at home against Clemson and Louisville. The No. 3 Cardinals fell 66-65 at UNC on Thursday.
