Matchup notables
• Notre Dame head coach Niele Ivey told reporters Tuesday that junior guard Sonia Citron will be out for a few more weeks with her knee injury. She suffered it on Nov. 15, and the original timetable Ivey offered was “a couple weeks.” Ivey also said there is not an updated timeframe for fellow junior guard Olivia Miles to make her season debut coming back from offseason knee surgery.
• Freshman guard Hannah Hidalgo is pacing the Irish with two of the best guards in the country on the shelf. Hidalgo is averaging 25.0 points, 6.3 steals, 5.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game. She’s coming off a stat line of 25 points, 8 steals, 7 assists and 5 rebounds in a 90-59 victory at Ball State this past Friday.
• Senior center Nat Marshall continues to give Notre Dame good minutes off the bench. She played 30 minutes vs. Ball State and scored 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Of all the Irish post players, she has the most nimble offensive presence in the post. She’s finally healthy, and she’s finally consistently contributing as a result.
