Newsstand: Talented in-state 2028 QB Oscar Sloan to camp at Notre Dame on Monday

One of the top quarterbacks in the 2028 class is set to participate in one of Notre Dame football’s prospect camps on Monday.
Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove sophomore Oscar Sloan told Blue & Gold he will be in South Bend. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound passer unofficially visited campus for the first time on April 2.
“When I went on my visit this spring, I loved it,” Sloan told Blue & Gold at the Under Armour Ohio Camp in May. “That was my first time visiting Notre Dame, which is kind of surprising because I’m from Indiana. Their culture is amazing. I love how Coach (Marcus) Freeman is involved.
“(Quarterbacks) Coach Gino (Guidugli), I love. I feel he was real with me when I talked to him for a good 20-25 minutes. They talked to me about the football program, but the education (stood out). How they put it is, ‘You’ll play in the NFL from when you’re 21-32. But after you’re 32, what are you going to do after that?’ That’s what Notre Dame is there for.”
Sloan already reports scholarship offers from Maryland, Purdue, Georgia State, Miami (Ohio) and Toledo. He is also drawing interest from Nebraska, Penn State, Indiana, Duke, North Carolina and South Florida.
