New Notre Dame running backs coach Deland McCullough brought a nearly unmatched energy to the Irish coaching staff when he arrived this offseason. He’s known as a top-notch recruiter, and Notre Dame will need him to land elite talent in the 2024 class. He got that ball rolling by offering several new backs on Thursday.

St. Patrick’s Day is a built-in holiday for Notre Dame to utilize on the recruiting trail, and during the “Pot of Gold” day, the staff offered dozens of new prospects. Here’s a look at the new running back offers.

McKinney (Texas) High RB Bryan Jackson II

Height/weight: 6-0, 200
On3 Consensus Ranking: N/A
Other notable offers: Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, USC

Bryan now has 16 Power Five offers, and several Big 12 schools seem to be the early frontrunners for the Texas product. Oklahoma and TCU currently leading according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine (25.8 percent). Jackson has visited Fort Worth and Norman twice each, and made one visit to Baylor, Oklahoma State and USC. The running back was a 5-6A first-team all-district selection in 2021, a very impressive feat for a sophomore in the loaded Dallas area.

Decatur (Texas) High RB Nathaniel Palmer

Height/weight: 5-10, 180
On3 Consensus Ranking: N/A
Other notable offers: Baylor, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, USC, Utah

The Texas native already has a strong connection with Notre Dame safety Brandon Joseph. Palmer just transferred to Decatur from College Station (Texas) High, the high school from which Joseph graduated. His father is expected to be on the staff at the new school, and he made the move after former College Station head coach Steve Huff took over at Decatur. Blue & Gold listed Palmer in a story Tuesday that detailed five recruits on which Notre Dame can make an impact if it offers this week.

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy RB Jerrick Gibson

Height/weight: 5-10, 180
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 34 NATL, No. 4 RB, No. 10 player from Florida
Other notable offers: Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Texas

Gibson hails from the famous IMG Academy, so you don’t have to worry about the competition this sophomore has faced. He’s very ready to take on college football. The Gainesville, Fla. native was previously committed to Florida under the former Dan Mullen-led staff and decommitted in February. Florida was his first Division I offer. Gibson is also a big-time track athlete.

Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep RB Davion Gause

Other notable offers: Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Texas A&M, USC

The Power Five offers have been rolling in since the conclusion of Gause’s 2021 season. Per MaxPreps, Gause had a whopping 1,844 yards during his sophomore season, averaging 7.3 yards per carry. The Lions posted a 12-1 record en route to a Class 3A state championship, their fourth in the last five years. Gause had 26 carries for 199 yards and two touchdowns in the game. To win the 2021 title, Chaminade-Madonna beat Berkeley Prep, home of 2023 Irish EGDE commit Keon Keeley.

On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 25 NATL, No. 2 RB, No. 9 player from Florida
Other notable offers: Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon

Carrie’s offer list is impressive. Really impressive. The Florida native is the highest-rated running back prospect the Irish added to their list on Thursday. Carrie began the day with 22 Power Five offers, and now he can add Notre Dame to the list. The opportunities span from coast to coast for the bulldozing back, who is high on Georgia at this point. He recently compared himself to two Georgia greats when speaking with DawgsHQ.

Albany (Ga.) Dougherty RB Kameron Davis

Height/weight: 5-10, 190
On3 Consensus Ranking: N/A
Other notable offers: Alabama, Florida State (commit), Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee
