The 29 Notre Dame football players taking part in 2024 Senior Day ceremony

Before Notre Dame kicks off against Virginia on Saturday, 29 Fighting Irish football players will be honored during a 2024 Senior Day ceremony in South Bend.
Taking part in the festivities does not mean a player cannot return for another season at Notre Dame if he has remaining eligiblity. Some players who are on the fence about coming back may choose to go through with being honored just in case.
Others who are confident they’ll be back can opt out altogether, as it appears defensive linemen Jordan Botelho and Gabriel Rubio have done. Fellow defensive lineman Jason Onye is a senior, too, but he has been away from the team for weeks because of a personal matter.
Here are the names of all 29 of the Notre Dame players being recognized. If a player has eligibility remaining, there is an asterisk (*) next to his name. Important to note, some of the players are walk-ons who are not on scholarship. Those players have ^ next to their names.

There are nine players with asterisks next to their names, meaning they could be back in a Notre Dame uniform next season if that’s what they decided and what the Fighting Irish coaching staff has in store for them. Four of those players, though, are walk-ons.
The real down-to-the-wire decisions will be made by the likes of the two wideouts and two offensive linemen — Thomas and Colzie, Spindler and Coogan. Bauman has a choice on his hands too, but he has not been a regular rotation player for Notre Dame this season. Thomas has been, and Spindler and Coogan have even been starters. That trio’s future is interesting, to say the least.
For the time being, they will enjoy Saturday alongside their teammates, fans, family and friends.
