No. 21 Notre Dame (2-2) took a massive step toward convincing its fans that it’s serious about making a run at a 10-2 record and the College Football Playoff. The next episode in its 10-game series of must-win matchups is Boise State (3-1).

Here’s everything to know about the matchup, including how to watch.

Series facts: This is the first-ever meeting between the Irish and Broncos.

2025 team records: Notre Dame: 2-2 (L, 27-24 at Miami; L, 41-40 vs. Texas A&M; W, 56-30 vs. Purdue; W, 56-13 at Arkansas); Boise State: 3-1 (L, 34-7 at South Florida; W, 51-14 vs. Eastern Washington; W, 49-37 at Air Force; W, 47-14 vs. Appalachian State)

Noting Notre Dame: The Irish finally produced a complete team win this past Saturday, defeating Arkansas 56-13 behind a Manning Award Quarterback of the Week-winning performance from redshirt freshman signal-caller CJ Carr and another 6 combined touchdowns from star running backs Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price. The Irish continue to fire on all cylinders offensively while making modest but meaningful improvements to their defense, which was at or near the bottom of the country in several key statistics before facing the Razorbacks. It’s starting to feel a little bit like 2024, when Notre Dame rattled off 10-straight wins to end its regular season and make the College Football Playoff after an embarrassing loss in Week 2.

Noting Boise State: Cautious optimism is the order of the week at Boise State, who enters South Bend as winners of three-straight games. The Broncos haven’t played anyone close to what they’l face at Notre Dame, and in their biggest test of the season so far — a Week 1 road game at South Florida — they lost 34-7. Boise State is strong in the trenches, with dominant left tackle Kage Casey leading the offensive line and defensive tackle Braxton Fely anchoring the defensive line. A trio of running backs and a passing game led by second-year starting quarterback Maddux Madsen gives the Broncos a potent offense, but questions about the defense are still unanswered after tackling issues contributed to their blowout loss to USF.
