They were two of the best players in the nation at their respective positions all season, and now they’re All-Americans. Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love and cornerback Leonard Moore were named to On3’s and The Athletic’s All-America first teams.

Love is a finalist for Maxwell Player of the Year, the Doak Walker Award and the Heisman Trophy. He set the Irish single-season touchdown record with 21, breaking Jerome Bettis previous record of 20 set in 1991. He ran for 1,372 yards and 6.9 yards per carry while adding 280 yards receiving.

Moore led the Irish with 5 interceptions. He’s a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, which is given to the best defensive back in college football. His single-season Pro Football Focus grade of 92.0 is better than that of the two other finalists, Ohio State’s Caleb Downs (91.0) and LSU’s Mansoor Delane (87.0).

Love, in all likelihood, has played his final game in an Irish uniform. He’s eligible for the 2026 NFL Draft and is far and away the No. 1 running back prospect on the big board. Moore just finished his true sophomore season, meanwhile, and could very well have the same distinction as Love at this time next year as the No. 1 cornerback option in the 2027 draft.

The Irish were the highest-ranked team to not qualify for the College Football Playoff and decided to decline a bid to the Pop-Tarts Bowl. Their 2025 season concluded with a 49-20 win at Stanford last month, pushing their record to 10-2.
