Sportsbooks still like Notre Dame football to win convincingly this Saturday vs. Navy, even after the Irish’s unsightly 25-10 victory over Boston College last Saturday. According to BetMGM, Notre Dame is a 25.5-point favorite over the Midshipmen. The over/under total is 55.5 points.

The Irish have had uncharacteristic trouble against the spread this season, failing to cover in five of eight games. Before the season, Notre Dame had been 26-13-2 ATS in the Freeman era, a mark that ranked among the best in college football.

Two of those wins against the spread came against Navy. Last year, the Irish covered a 14-point spread in a 51-14 win. Then, the year before, Notre Dame covered a 20.5-point spread by beating the Midshipmen 42-3. Navy did cover a 17-point spread in 2022 since the Irish only won that game 35-32.

This season, the Midshipmen are 2-6 ATS, failing to cover in five consecutive outings. Last Saturday, Navy did not cover as a 6.5-point underdog in a 31-17 loss to North Texas.

Saturday, will be the 98th meeting between Notre Dame and Navy. The Irish own an 83-13-1 all-time record and have won the last seven meetings. It will be the first one played at Notre Dame Stadium since 2021.
