Where Notre Dame Fighting Irish rank in Nov. 18 College Football Playoff rankings

It was an up and down weekend for Notre Dame as far as rooting for College Football Playoff seeding scenarios was concerned following 37-15 victory over then-No. 22 Pitt in a noon ET kickoff for head coach Marcus Freeman‘s team.
On one hand, Texas lost to Georgia. The Longhorns were hot on the Fighting Irish’s tail in the first two sets of CFP rankings but now they’ve all but been eliminated from playoff contention.
On the other, Oklahoma beat Alabama. The Sooners were ranked two spots below the Irish in the first two rankings reveals. Now, they’re above them.
Oklahoma jumping Notre Dame was all but a given. It happened in both the Coaches Poll and Associated Press Poll. The other thing that happened in both of those polls, though, was Alabama dropping from the top five all the way behind Notre Dame. The big question going into Tuesday’s CFP rankings show was whether the playoff committee would do the same and put the Irish ahead of the Crimson Tide.
It did. Notre Dame is No. 9. Alabama is No. 10.
