COLUMBUS — Ohio State remained No. 1 in college football in the latest AP Poll ahead of The Game against Michigan this weekend.

The Buckeyes have been at the top of the poll since their win over Texas in the opening weekend of the season. And this entire year has been building toward the matchup in the rivalry game, which Ohio State hasn’t won since 2019.

For what it’s worth, the top five is rounded out by Indiana, Texas A&M, Georgia and Oregon.

Other Big Ten teams that are ranked heading into the final weekend of the regular season are Indiana, Oregon, USC and Michigan.

Ohio State received 58 first-place votes, up from what it received last week as the grip on the top spot is continuing to hold steady. Other first-place votes went to Indiana and Texas A&M. No other program received any first-place votes in the latest AP Poll.

Michigan, which Ohio State will face on the final week of the regular season, crept up the rankings again after a road win at Maryland as its tune-up for The Game. Now it is officially a top-15 matchup between No. 1 Ohio State and No. 15 Michigan on Saturday afternoon in the Big House.
