COLUMBUS — Ohio State entered the final month of the regular season as the top-ranked team in the latest Associated Press Top 25. And it’s not moving off that perch following another blowout win on the road over an inferior Big Ten opponent. The Buckeyes are remaining No. 1 in the latest AP Poll after another Saturday of college football.

After a blowout win on the road at Purdue, the Buckeyes are staying at the top of the polls ahead of their home game against UCLA in primetime this weekend (7:30 p.m., NBC). The unranked Bruins (3-6, 3-3 Big Ten) lost to Nebraska inside the Rose Bowl on Saturday night. Following a weekend full of crazy college football action, the Buckeyes are followed by Indiana, Texas A&M, Alabama and Georgia to round out the top five.

Other Big Ten teams that are ranked heading into November are Indiana, Oregon, USC and Michigan.

Ohio State received 55 first-place votes, up from what it received last week as the grip on the top spot is continuing to hold steady. Other first-place votes went to Indiana and Texas A&M. No other program received any first-place votes in the latest AP Poll.

Michigan, which Ohio State will face on the final week of the regular season, crept up the rankings again despite being off on Saturday with its second idle week of the season. Ohio State doesn’t play a ranked team in the next two weeks before heading to Ann Arbor for The Game against the Wolverines.
