COLUMBUS — Ohio State has added another talented prospect in the secondary. Additionally, it’s a legacy prospect.

The Buckeyes have received a commitment from three-star Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep athlete Angelo Smith. He is the younger brother of Ohio State star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.

Ohio State offered the 5-foot-8, 180-pound Smith following a strong camp performance this summer as a defensive back. He also had offers from Miami, Georgia State, Toledo, Akron and Oklahoma State.

Rivals has not yet ranked Smith but he is the No. 533 overall prospect and No. 29 athlete in the Rivals Industry Rankings. He has 18 total tackles, nine solo tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss through three games as a junior. Smith also has one interception and two passes defended from his safety position.

Smith joins five-star Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne wide receiver Jamier Brown and four-star Huntington Beach (Calif.) quarterback Brady Edmunds in the Buckeyes 2027 recruiting class. Brown is the No. 7 overall prospect and No. 1 wide receiver in the Rivals Industry Rankings. As for Edmunds, he is the No. 77 overall prospect and No. 4 quarterback in the country in the Rivals Industry Rankings.
