COLUMBUS – Ohio State has its second commitment in the 2028 recruiting class.

Four-star Trotwood-Madison (Ohio) defensive lineman Jameer Whyce has committed to Ohio State. Whyce joins four-star Tampa (Fla.) Blake running back Elijah Hall in the Buckeyes class

Jameer Whyce is the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 2 defensive lineman in the 2028 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. Whyce is the No. 63 overall prospect in Rivals initial top-100 for the 2028 class.

Ohio State offered in June following multiple strong camp performances. Whyce took part in the Buckeyes first one-day prospect camp on June 5 but didn’t earn an offer. He then returned to campus on June 18 for a 7-on-7 team camp with his Trotwood-Madison teammates. Whyce did not participate in the 7-on-7 portion of camp but did work out for defensive lien coach Larry Johnson which led to him earning an offer.
