Live updates: Ohio State defeats Iowa

COLUMBUS — After a chaotic weekend around college football during Ohio State’s bye week, the Buckeyes return to action against the Iowa Hawkeyes to kick off the second half of the season.
Iowa will visit Columbus for the first time since 2013 — a 34-24 Buckeyes win. It is the first matchup between the two since the Hawkeyes’ 55-24 drubbing of Ohio State in Iowa City in 2017.

FINAL: Ohio State defeats Iowa 54-10
Ohio State scored more points against Iowa than any opponent has since 1995, when the Buckeyes scored 56 against the Hawkeyes. Iowa’s offense failed to gain 100 passing or rushing yards. C.J. Stroud was 20-of-20 for 286 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.

Star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is expected back for Ohio State after being unavailable to the Buckeyes for a month due to injury. Running backs Miyan Williams and TreVeyon Henderson are also both expected to play.
