Ohio State went for it on 4th-and-1 from the Washington 3-yard line and Julian Sayin hit CJ Donaldson for the touchdown to extend the Buckeyes lead.

The Huskies started building some momentum with a drive in the 4th quarter but defensive lineman Kayden McDonald put a stop to it with a sack on 4th-and-2 to end Washington’s drive.

After Washington cut into the Buckeyes lead with a field goal, Ohio State responded with one of its own. Kicker Jayden Fielding nailed a 34-yard field goal to extend the Buckeyes lead to 17-6 over the Huskies lead.

Washington once again drove the ball deep into Ohio State territory but they were unable to get the end zone. A sack on 3rd-and-goal forced the Huskies to settle for a 28-yard field goal to make it a 14-6 game in the third quarter.

The Buckeyes got the ball to open the second half and they were able to extend their lead. Running back CJ Donaldson’s one yard touchdown capped off Ohio State’s 14 play, 75-yard drive to open the second half. Ohio State leads Washington 14-3 in the third quarter.

It took until the final two minute of the first half but Ohio State has its first lead of the game. Quarterback Julian Sayin hit wide receiver Jeremiah Smith for a 18-yard touchdown on 3rd-and-11 to give the Buckeyes a 7-3 lead.

Washington strung together another drive into Ohio State territory but the Buckeyes were able to keep them off the board. The Huskies attempted a fake field goal to keep the drive alive but the pass fell incomplete.

The Inniss fumble set the Huskies up with good field position and they took advantage of it. Washington drove it down to the Ohio State 10-yard line but the Buckeyes were able to keep them out of the end zone. Kicker Grady Gross knocked in a 28-yard field goal to give his team a 3-0 lead.

The Ohio State defense stopped Washington on third down to force a punt. Returner Brandon Inniss gained 32 yards on the return before fumbling the ball back to the Huskies.
