Buckeyes add future games against Navy and Youngstown State

COLUMBUS — Ohio State has made two adjustments to its future nonconference schedules.

The Buckeyes have added a game against Navy to their 2029 schedule. That matchup against the Midshipmen will be the season-opening game for the 2029 season and will take place on Sept. 1, 2029.

The game that was originally scheduled for that date, a home matchup against Nevada, has now been pushed back. The Wolf Pack will visit Ohio Stadium on Sept. 7, 2030, one year later than the original date agreed upon.

Ohio State is 5-0 all-time against Navy, the last matchup coming in the Buckeyes’ 2014 national championship season when they beat the Midshipmen 34-17 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.

Ohio State has also added Youngstown State to its 2029 nonconference slate. The Buckeyes will face the Penguins on Sept. 15, 2029 to round out a 2029 nonconference schedule that will feature matchups against Navy, Charlotte and Youngstown State.

The program is set to begin playing some of the country’s best programs through the next decade in nonconference play; the Buckeyes have home-and-home series’ with Texas (2025 and 2026), Alabama (2027 and 2028) and Georgia (2030 and 2031) on their future schedules through the next few years. The game against Texas this upcoming fall will be the season opener on Aug. 30 and will kick off at Noon on FOX.

The Buckeyes still have an open date on its 2030 nonconference schedule. No opponent has been scheduled for the season opener on Aug. 31 for that season.
