COLUMBUS — Ohio State will take on Minnesota in a primetime game inside the Horseshoe on Saturday night.

But Saturday will certainly be a unique challenge for this team as it returns from a West Coast game last weekend to play Minnesota in a primetime showdown. The Buckeyes have won 13 straight over the Gophers, but that doesn’t mean much for this contest this season.

Ohio State stuffed Minnesota on fourth and 1 from the Gophers’ 44-yard line, then the Buckeyes threw a deep shot to Carnell Tate for a touchdown. It’s 21-3, and Tate has six catches (tied for a career high) for 159 yards (career high) and a score.

Ohio State kicker Jayden Fielding missed a 52-yard field goal wide left to keep it a 3-0 game in favor of Minnesota.

The Buckeyes did force a three-and-out from the Gophers on the ensuing possession. Ohio State now has the football on its own 9-yard line after a punt.
