COLUMBUS — Yet another All-American list is out, and it featured yet another selection for Marvin Harrison Jr.

The Buckeyes star wide receiver was named the lone first-team All-American by the Associated Press, which released its selections on Monday afternoon. Harrison is already getting a tree planted in Buckeye Grove because of the honor. But the latest inclusion gives him an even more impressive claim: he is officially a consensus first-team All-American.

The AP honor is his third All-American list. The first two, the Walter Camp Football Foundation and the Football Writers Association of America, were announced last week. Harrison made both.

Marvin Harrison Jr. is the first consensus All-American wide receiver at Ohio State since Terry Glenn, who earned that distinction in 1995. No Buckeyes wide receiver has ever been named a unanimous first-team All-American. Harrison has a chance to become the first if he is named a first-teamer in the eyes of the Sporting News and the American Football Coaches Association, which are slated to release selections later this week.

Harrison, a Biletnikoff Award finalist, had 72 catches for 1,157 yards receiving and 12 receiving touchdowns this fall. Oh, and he had just one drop all season on 108 targets, a remarkable stat given his usage as the go-to weapon for quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Harrison did not, however, win the Biletnikoff Award, which has a goal of being given annually to the country’s top wide receiver. Tennessee receiver Jalin Hyatt won the award last week.

Ohio State starting tackles Paris Johnson and Dawand Jones were both named second-team All-Americans by the AP, solidifying their place as the top tackle tandem in the country. Linebacker and senior leader Tommy Eichenberg was also a second-team selection. He led Ohio State in tackles this fall. Safety Ronnie Hickman was also a second-team selection, giving Ohio State five total players with first- or second-team honors.

Marvin Harrison Jr. also earns other All-American honors

The full list of All-American teams Marvin Harrison Jr. has already been included on prior to Monday:

Ohio State left tackle Paris Johnson was also named a first-team All-American by the FWAA, the Walter Camp Football Foundation and The Athletic. If he is selected as a first-team All-American by either the Sporting News or the American Football Coaches Association, he’ll join Harrison as a consensus first-team All-American.
