Buckeyes officially under 100 days until season opener
The Buckeyes will host Notre Dame on Sept. 3 — and that will take place in a prime time, 7:30 p.m. kickoff inside the Horseshoe and on ABC.
That game is officially under 100 days away. The Buckeyes will take on the Fighting Irish in just 98 days, inching closer to that massive showdown.
Ohio State is already preparing for that Week One matchup, which will carry massive College Football Playoff implications early in the season.
The Buckeyes had the season-opener in mind when they decided it was best to tackle in the spring game last month. It’s all to build up toughness heading into September and that pivotal matchup.
ICYMI: Tim May Podcast episode
And this week on the Tim May Podcast, Tim is joined by a special guest to look way back at some of the earliest Buckeyes teams to play football.
Tim welcomes Dan P. McQuigg, the author of “Days of Yore: The Men of Scarlet and Gray,” a book that examines Ohio State football in the 1890s and early in the 20th century, including when the Buckeyes joined the Big Ten in 1914.
How did Ohio State football truly take off in the early 1900s? Who was the biggest Buckeyes star in the early ages of the program before it played in the Horseshoe? And just how good was Ohio State when it began to see positive results on the field? Dan and Tim talk about what seems like ancient history — but is a massive part of the proud history of the football team.
You will not want to miss that and plenty more news and analysis and in another edition of the Tim May Podcast.

ICYMI: More Buckeyes kickoff times announced

The 2022 schedule is slowly but surely filling in and it shapes up nicely for Ohio State. There are reports that the Penn State game in late October, usually a night-time “white out” game for the Nittany Lions, is expected to be featured on FOX as its “Big Noon Kickoff” game. That would be a welcome respite for the Buckeyes if it is correct.
If Ohio State finds its way back to Indianapolis for the 2022 Big Ten championship game, that will be an 8:00 p.m. kickoff on FOX.
