Mike Hall on decision to commit to Buckeyes, plans as a recruiter
Ohio State football recruiting can be a wild ride full of twists and turns as recruits from all over the country maneuver their way to signing day. Lettermen Row is here to help navigate the tumultuous roads by getting to the heart of the matter with the young football players themselves. Birminology shows who the young men being recruited by Ohio State truly are — by talking to them. This week’s guest is Michael Hall, the tenth member of the 2021 recruiting class to commit to Ohio State.
The Buckeyes latest commitment really didn’t intend to issue a verbal pledge to Ryan Day and Ohio State as quickly as he did.
But for Mike Hall, the state of Ohio’s ninth-ranked 2021 prospect, all the dreams of visiting other schools and letting his recruiting process play out into his senior season paled in comparison to the dream he had as a kid growing up in Northeast Ohio.
So, when Hall visited Columbus this past Saturday as one of just three recruits who were invited by the Buckeyes, he decided to follow his heart and his instincts. After a sit-down conversation with Ryan Day and Larry Johnson, the 6-foot-3, 290-pound Hall made the choice to commit to the Buckeyes.

Now that he’s committed, Hall is turning his attention to his final year-and-a-half at Streetsboro High School and to doing what it takes to make sure that he is ready to contribute to the Buckeyes program from the moment he gets on campus as an official member of the Ohio State football team.
Is Mike Hall going to enroll early? What did his mother think of Larry Johnson? Which defensive line prospects are he and fellow Buckeyes commitment Jack Sawyer targeting to join them? The big-time defensive tackle answers those questions and more as the latest guest of Birminology, brought to you by Lettermen Row.
