<h2><strong>Cincinnati trio plans Ohio State official visit</strong></h2>
<p>Staying on the topic of official visits, a trio of top Ohio State targets from Cincinnati have set their plans to get back to Columbus for an official visit. As expected,Â <a href="https://247sports.com/Player/Paris-Johnson-Jr-46042173/">Paris Johnson</a>,Â <a href="https://247sports.com/Player/Darrion-Henry-46049747/">Darrion Henry</a>Â andÂ <a href="https://247sports.com/player/jaheim-thomas-46051266/">Jaheim Thomas</a>Â will make their visit together.</p>
<p>Three of Ohioâ€™s top four 2020 prospects and teammates at Cincinnati Princeton for their senior seasons, the Queen City prospects will make the trip over the weekend of June 21, multiple sources confirmed to Lettermen Row. That weekend is being set up as one of the defining moments of Ryan Dayâ€™s first-full recruiting class at the helm of the program.</p>
<p>According to Lettermen Row recruiting czar Birm,Â that weekend is likely to have Friday Night Lights as the backdrop at Ohio State for a host of other talented prospects, committed or otherwise. Expect that prospect list to keep growing into a major recruiting weekend.</p>

<h2><strong>Chase Young No. 3 on ESPN big board</strong></h2>
<p>ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper released the first edition of his <a href="http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2019/insider/story/_/id/26719243/kiper-big-board-2020-nfl-draft-bama-top-not-tua">2020 NFL Draft big board</a> on Thursday, and an Ohio State defensive lineman was once again near the top. Junior defensive end Chase Young opened at No. 3, behind Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and LSU safety Grant Delpit. Here’s what Kiper said about Young:</p>
<p>Young caught my eye as a true freshman in 2017, when he had six tackles for loss while playing in a super-talented Buckeyes defensive line rotation. And afterÂ Nick BosaÂ went down early in 2018, Young was the team’s best defender. He’s a natural pass-rusher with a lightning-quick first step off the ball. He finished the season with 9.5 sacks and 14.5 total tackles for loss and batted down five passes. He has the talent to be the first edge rusher off the board next April.</p>
<h2><strong>Reid Fragel on Nicholas Petit-Frere</strong></h2>
<p>Ohio State has put plenty on the plate of Nicholas Petit-Frere, both literally with anÂ <a href="https://lettermenrow.com/ohio-state-football/nicholas-petit-frere-ohio-state-buckeyes-football-offensive-tackle/">8,000-calorie diet</a>Â and figuratively with more responsibility as a potential starter at right tackle. Keeping up at either way at this stage of the development process can be a challenge, obviously, and that work often isnâ€™t pretty.</p>
<p>However, his progress this spring was noticeable as he ended camp looking like the odds-on favorite to take over on the right side following the graduation of Prince. Clearly stronger thanks to the offseason program both in the weight room and at the dinner table, Petit-Frere appeared to be poised to tap into theÂ five-star potentialÂ that made him such a coveted signee late in the recruiting cycle a year ago.</p>
<p>What makes Petit-Frere so appealing to Ohio State as a blocker? Where are the key areas to focus on heading into his second season with the program? How difficult is it to eat all that food every day? Former Ohio State offensive tackleÂ Reid FragelÂ returned to the Lettermen Row film lab to try to answer all those questions in the latest episode ofÂ BuckIQ.</p>

<h2><strong>Blue Smith headed to Cincinnati</strong></h2>
<p>Luke Fickell has established Cincinnati as perhaps the go-to option for transferring Ohio State players, and the Bearcats gained another Buckeye on Thursday. Wide receiver L’Christian “Blue” Smith, who played at Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne, announced he is transferring to Cincinnati.</p>
<p>Smith played sparingly in his first and only season in Columbus before opting to move on.</p>
<h2><strong>Ohio State men’s tennis stunned in quarters</strong></h2>
<p>Ohio State men’s tennis entered the NCAA Championships quarterfinals on quite a roll. The Buckeyes were seeded No. 1 overall, having amassed a 32-2 record and won the Big Ten regular season and conference tournament. However, their title hopes came to a stunning end Thursday with a 4-2 loss to No. 9 North Carolina in the quarterfinals.</p>
<p>The loss will also cost Ohio State a chance to avenge their NCAA final loss to Wake Forest from last season. Instead, it will be the Tar Heels who will face No. 4 Wake Forest in the semifinals.</p>
