COLUMBUS — As summer approaches, the Ohio State coaching staff has started to spend more time recruiting top prospects in the 2027 class. The Buckeyes already pursuing some of the top prospects in the country and certainly within the state.

On3 released its updated On300 for the 2027 recruiting class which included a pair of Ohio State commitments and several targets.

Lettermen Row takes a few moments to look where both members of the Ohio State 2027 class slotted in the updated On300.

Jamier Brown

Four-star Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne wide receiver Jamier Brown remains the highest-ranked Ohio State commit in the updated 2027 On300. Brown rose over 20 spots in the updated rankings and is now the No. 10 overall prospect. He also ranks as the No. 1 wide receiver and No. 1 prospect in Ohio in the 2027 class.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Brown visited Ohio State on Friday, March 21 for a spring practice. He also made trips to Notre Dame and Texas this spring but remains locked in with the Buckeyes.

“Well most of it, like when I went to Notre Dame, was really just go see Aamil Wagner, starting lineman at Notre Dame, who went here,” Brown told Lettermen Row. “So that’s really what I was doing. Go talk to Coach Marcus [Freeman], Coach Mike [Mickens] and Coach [Mike] Brown. So that’s really what I was doing.

“I’m just basically kind of enjoying my recruitment even though I’m committed. I’m locked in. So nobody has to worry, I’m just going around a little bit.”

Brown is also one of the top sprinters in the state of Ohio. Brown has a personal best of 10.47 seconds in the 100-meter dash this spring.

Brady Edmunds

The only other Ohio State commitment in the updated 2027 On300 is four-star Huntington Beach (Calif.) quarterback  Brady Edmunds. He is now the No. 113 overall prospect. A slight drop from where ranked in the initial 2027 On300 which was No. 89 overall. The future Buckeye signal-caller now ranks as the No. 9 quarterback in 2027 class, according to On3.

Edmunds took a multi-day visit to Ohio State from April 10-12 the competed in the Elite 11 Regional in Ohio on Sunday, April 13. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Edmunds plans to return to Columbus next month to camp with the Buckeyes for the third straight summer.
