Priority Buckeyes hoops target sets decision date

Ohio State has been in pursuit of Sunrise Christian (Wichita, Kansas) small forward Scotty Middleton the entire summer.

The Buckeyes will find out Sunday evening if their efforts on the recruiting trail have paid off. Middleton will make his college choice on Sunday night at 8 p.m., and he’ll choose between Ohio State, UConn, Seton Hall and others.

Right now, the Buckeyes are favored to land Middleton, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. But they won’t know for sure until Sunday night. Middleton is set to make his choice, and he could give Chris Holtmann and Ohio State an impressive four-man 2023 recruiting haul.

Practice No. 2 concluded with running backs coach Tony Alford and running backs were available following the practice. Lettermen Row staffers Spencer Holbrook and Tim May return with another post-practice and availability video breaking down what they learned.

How will TreVeyon Henderson carry his impressive freshman season into a sophomore campaign? Is this finally the year for Miyan Williams to establish a more consistent role as one of the older guys in the room? Can Evan Pryor make it a three-headed monster in the backfield for Ohio State and lighten the load for quarterback C.J. Stroud and the wide receivers?

Alford provided plenty of clarity on how the Buckeyes are working toward where they are used to being — running the ball at will. Behind a new offensive line coach in Justin Frye, the momentum and newfound energy in the trenches are permeating into a seasoned backfield for Ohio State.
