Sevyn Banks working back from minor injury setback

Sevyn Banks is expected to be one of the top cornerbacks in all of college football this fall. Ohio State is hoping for big things from its top returning corner.

Banks will need to stay healthy to become the next in line of a long list of Buckeyes first-round cornerbacks. He’s currently working back from an injury setback as the Buckeyes make their way through the second week of camp.

“Sevyn kind of tweaked something,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said Monday. “So he’s been out for the last couple practices. We’re excited to see him get into practice because he had a really good summer. We’re expecting big things from him this year, but he hasn’t really been out there as much.”

Banks can be a lock-down cornerback for Ohio State as the Buckeyes hope to correct the mistakes in the secondary from last year. He’ll need to get back on the field in a full capacity to do so, and he’s on the right trajectory right now.

As he works his way back, Sevyn Banks will continue to prove why he should be among the best cornerbacks in the country.

New Lettermen Live hosted by Roosters

Ohio State is entering a massive, pivotal point of training camp. The Buckeyes will be in full pads for the first time this week.

And Lettermen Live is back at Roosters on Olentangy River Road in Columbus to break it all down.

Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward is joined by former Ohio State quarterback Justin Zwick, former Buckeyes signal-caller Cardale Jones, Nicole Cox from Roosters and Lettermen Row Director of Recruiting Jeremy Birmingham. The crew dives into a loaded edition of the show with their surprises of training camp so far. Miyan Williams is taking first-team running back reps for the Buckeyes. Some key defenders are beginning to emerge. They broke it down.

The gang also made sure to analyze the ongoing Ohio State quarterback battle between C.J. Stroud, Jack Miller and Kyle McCord, who are all three making strong cases to be the guy under center this fall. Coach Ryan Day and the rest of the staff will be watching closely as the pads go on to see who looks the best this week.

As always, Lettermen Live is hosted by Roosters on Olentangy River Road in Columbus.

Five-star Ohio State target Sonny Styles joins Birminology

There’s no timetable in place for Sonny Styles. There is, however, near certainty that Ohio State and Notre Dame are going to be two of the final players in his recruitment. He has family ties to each program and will be on campus with each multiple times this upcoming season.

Where else will he visit? What did Ohio State do to make his stops on its campus unique? How has his role in the Pickerington Central defense changed?

Sonny Styles, the biggest priority in the Buckeyes 2023 recruiting class, joins Birminology with Lettermen Row’s Jeremy Birmingham to talk about that stuff and more in a jam-packed interview.
