The latest Letter of Intent is in: Tavien St. Clair has signed with the Buckeyes.
COLUMBUS — The first in-state commitment for Ohio State in the 2025 class is officially a Buckeyes. Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Tavien St. Clair has signed his Letter of Intent to Ohio State.

Who is Tavien St. Clair?
Tavien St. Clair is a Five-Star Plus+ quarterback from Bellefontaine, Ohio, and attended Bellefontaine High School High School. He committed to the Buckeyes in June. 24, 2023. St. Clair is the first in-state quarterback signee of the Ryan Day era at Ohio State.

Tavien St. Clair is from a town of less than 15,000 people but he is one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 class. St. Clair was a four-year starter for Bellefontaine and took the program to heights it has never seen before — including the OHSAA Division III regional finals in his junior season. He threw for 9,794 yards and 104 touchdowns for the Chieftains in his high school career.
St. Clair is the Buckeyes’ only quarterback commitment in the 2025 class. He is the future of the Ohio State quarterback room under offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.

The spring of 2023 was an important time for Ohio State quarterback recruiting in the 2025 class. The Buckeyes evaluated several prospects before ultimately offering St. Clair in May.

St. Clair camped in Columbus a few weeks later and returned a few more times that summer. He also visited a few out of state schools, however. He earned offers from the likes of Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State and Michigan that summer but none were able to overcome the Buckeyes.
St. Clair committed to Ohio State on June 24 and hasn’t looked back since.
“The tradition, the quarterback development,” St. Clair told Lettermen Row. “Just what’s gonna put me in the best position to go to the NFL.”
St. Clair has been one of the biggest peer recruiters for the Buckeyes in the 2025 cycle as well.
He will be an early enrollee and on campus in January after playing in the Navy All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 11.
