COLUMBUS — High school football season is in full swing which means evaluations are taking place across the country. Ohio State has already offered several prospects in the 2027 class this fall.

Rivals released its updated Rivals 300 for the 2027 recruiting class on Monday which included two future Buckeyes. Lettermen Row takes a few moments to look where both Ohio State commits slotted in the updated rankings.

Jamier Brown

Four-star Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne wide receiver Jamier Brown is the highest-ranked Ohio State commit in the updated 2027 Rivals 300. He did fall a few spots, however. Brown is now the No. 13 overall prospect in the updated rankings. Rivals ranks him as the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 1 prospect in Ohio next cycle.

Other programs are working to flip the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Brown from the Buckeyes. He has visited Miami and Notre Dame this season but he has also attended multiple games in the Shoe.

Brown has also watched all of Ohio State’s road games this season. Here’s what he said about the recent shutout win over Wisconsin:

“I thought it was a great win for them and they keep showing why they are gonna win a natty again.”

Additionally, Brown is expected back at Ohio State next weekend for the Penn State game.

Brady Edmunds

Four-star Huntington Beach (Calif.) quarterback Brady Edmunds is the only other Ohio State commitment in the updated 2027 Rivals 300. He is the No. 161 overall prospect in 2027 class, according to Rivals. The future Buckeye few several spots from his preseason rankings.

Edmunds has had a strong junior season, however. He has thrown for 2,063 yards and 26 touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes through eight games. Edmunds has also rushed for 121 yards and three touchdowns.

Edmunds visited Ohio State for the Buckeyes shutout win over Grambling in September. He has been the vocal leader of this class. The aforementioned Brown and several other recruits have all talked about how Edmunds is recruiting them to Columbus.
