Where Lincoln Cosby, top Ohio State targets rank in updated 2027 Rivals150

COLUMBUS — Ohio State head coach Jake Diebler and his coaching staff have been busy recruiting this offseason. The Buckeyes have a pair of talented prospects committed in the 2026 class and are already recruiting a few of the top prospects in 2027.

On3 released its updated 150 for the 2027 recruiting class which included almost all of Ohio State has offered in that cycle.

Obinna Ekezie Jr.

The highest-ranked Ohio State target in the updated 2027 Rivals 150 is four-star Orlando (Calif.) Southeastern Prep center Obinna Ekezie Jr. He is now the No. 2 overall prospect and No. 1 center in the 2027 class, according to Rivals. The Buckeyes offered Ekezie last offseason.

Baba Oladotun

Four-star Silver Spring (Md.) James Hubert Blake small forward Baba Oladotun is the second highest-ranked Ohio State offeree in the updated 2027 Rivals 150. Oladotun is the No. 6 overall prospect and No. 3 small forward in the 2027 class, according to Rivals. Head coach Jake Diebler has watched Oladotun multiple times this offseason.

Lincoln Cosby

Four-star Montverde (Fla.) Montverde Academy small forward Lincoln Cosby was one of the first prospect that Ohio State offered in the 2027 class. He ranks as the No. 15 overall prospect and No. 7 small forward in the updated 2027 Rivals 150. Cosby is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Jaylan Mitchell

Ohio State offered four-star Geneva (Ohio) SPIRE Academy small forward Jaylan Mitchell in June. Mitchell is the No. 18 overall prospect and No. 8 small forward in the updated 2027 Rivals 150. He transferred from Evansville (Ind.) Francis Joseph Reitz to SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio this offseason.

DeMarcus Henry

Four-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei shooting guard Demarcus Henry is another prospect that Ohio State offered this offseason. He is the No. 23 overall prospect and No. 5 shooting guard in the updated 2027 Rivals 150. Henry is the younger brother of 2026 Ohio State wide receiver commit Chris Henry Jr. and women’s basketball player Seini Henry.

Cayden Daughtry

One spot behind Henry is four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Calvary Christian point guard Cayden Daughtry, who Ohio State offered in June. Daughtry is the No. 24 overall prospect and No. 4 point guard in the updated 2027 Rivals 150. He is someone the Buckeyes have been evaluating since last summer.

Griffin Starks

Four-star Newport (Kent.) small forward Griffin Starks is the next Ohio State target in the updated 2027 Rivals 150. Starks ranks as the No. 33 overall prospect and No. 13 small forward in the 2027 class, according to Rivals. The Buckeyes offered the 6-foot-7 Starks this spring while on a visit to Columbus.

Jason Gardner Jr.

Four-star Fishers (Ind.) point guard Jason Gardner Jr. is one of the top targets for the Buckeyes in the 2027 class, regardless of position. Gardner is the No. 34 overall prospect and No. 6 point guard in the updated 2027 Rivals 150. Ohio State has been attendance for almost all of Gardner’s games this offseason with both his high school and AAU teams.

LJ Smith

The Buckeyes also offered Four-star Lincolnton (N.C.) combo guard LJ Smith on June 15, the first day college coaches could contact 2027 prospects. He is the No. 76 overall prospect and No. 15 shooting guard in the updated 2027 Rivals 150. Smith is another North Carolina native that Ohio State is targeting under associate head coach Joel Justus.

Joshua Tyson

Four-star West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West point guard Joshua Tyson earned an offer from Ohio State following a strong performance at the Buckeyes team camp in June. Tyson makes his Rivals rankings debut as the No. 88 overall prospect and No. 24 point guard in the updated 2027 Rivals 150.

Shawn Foster

The final Ohio State target in the updated 2027 Rivals 150 is three-star Geneva (Ohio) SPIRE Academy shooting guard Shawn Foster. He ranks as the No. 127 overall prospect and No. 2 combo guard in the 2027 class, according to Rivals. Foster visited Ohio State last fall. He is expected to transfer from Lima Senior (Ohio) to SPIRE Academy for his junior season.
