BuckIQ: Defensive end Zach Harrison brings elite potential to Ohio State

COLUMBUS — Everything was worth it in the end for Ohio State and Zach Harrison.
Months of drama swirling around his recruitment. The hard work it took to become one of the most coveted recruits in the country. The sales pitches, the visits, conversations and endless speculation around the Olentangy Orange prospect.
All of it built up to his decision when the early signing period opened on Wednesday. And by the afternoon, the Buckeyes had another massive building block to work with on the defensive line with the five-star prospect electing to stay close to home, spurning Michigan and Penn State for the back-to-back Big Ten champions.
“What makes Zach special is his mindset,” Olentangy Orange coach Zebb Schroeder said. “His mindset on life, school, people, improvement. In his mind,  he’s a humble nobody who’s never arrived yet. That drives him to work hard on his body, on his craft and creates continuous improvement.
“People enjoy being around him which makes him a natural leader of young men. And he loves and respects the game of football. He thinks like a coach and wants to know the fraction-of-an-inch details. You add all that up with his frame and his speed and you have an incredible combination.”

The Buckeyes get to work with all that now, and position coach Larry Johnson has already proven many times over what he can turn that kind of potential into up front.
Joey Bosa. Nick Bosa. Sam Hubbard. Tyquan Lewis. Chase Young.
Now Zach Harrison is next in line for the Ohio State Rushmen. And after his commitment, former Ohio State linebacker Zach Boren jumped in the Lettermen Row film room to break down what Harrison can bring to the program moving forward in his latest BuckIQ.
