City of Norman, OU optimistic new arena will be approved

Fans, athletes and coaches have made that clear over the past decade. And it looks like OU finally has a plan to move on from the Lloyd Noble Center, which has been home to OU basketball since 1975. Team Norman announced Wednesday a $1 billion proposal to build a new entertainment district in Northeast Norman, which would include an approximately 8,000-seat arena that would become the new home of men’s and women’s basketball, as well as women’s gymnastics.
