The Crimson Countdown is officially on for the 2025 Oklahoma football season. Everybody wants to forget about 2024 and move forward.

Head coach Brent Venables and staff have attempted to do that. New face calling the offense (Ben Arbuckle). Venables calling the defense, it’s now or never for this regime at OU in the SEC. No beating around the bush.

Every day as we get closer to kickoff, SoonerScoop.com will count down the days with you. Starting with No. 99 and working our way to No. 0, we’ll be there every step of the way.

Crimson Countdown: No. 55 Eddy Pierre-Louis

2024 stats: Played in four games, redshirt.

2025 outlook:

This is one of those guys you circle. Because as much as you love some of the interior players returning, Pierre-Louis could be one of those dudes.

You can hear it in the tone from leaders like Troy Everett. Their excitement reaches just a different level in talking about how good Pierre-Louis can be.

But 2025 needs to be the start of stop talking about can be and instead needs to shift to who good he actually is. It’ll be up to Pierre-Louis to make that type of imprint because it won’t be easy.

He’s going to have to show he’s already better than guys more experienced and have played at the highest of levels.

However, there is that feeling that Pierre-Louis is just that type of dog. Get him in there, bring out the nasty and watch him work. This season should be the start.

2025 interior offensive linemen outlook

This is one of the positions on the roster that seems to have plenty of bodies and talent but what remains is a lot of interest over who will be in the rotation. At right guard and center the Sooners return maybe the line’s two most clear starters in Febechi Nwaiwu and Troy Everett, respectively. However, there is competition chasing both including transfer Jake Maikkula and incoming standout freshman Ryan Fodje. On the left side Heath Ozaeta missed spring practice while recovering from a shoulder injury. The name to keep an eye on as a big riser is redshirt freshman Eddy Pierre-Louis.
