How John Mateer became a dual-threat quarterback

Next to the Mateer family household in Little Elm, Texas, is a steep hill.  This is where Oklahoma John Mateer first developed into a dual-threat quarterback. Since his junior year of high school, Mateer has been running up this hill every summer, including this past one. Today, Mateer credits this hill for his elite ability to elude defenders with his legs.
