OU basketball non-conference schedule coming into focus

If there’s one thing about Porter Moser and the OU non-conference basketball schedule, he’ll be aggressive.
It doesn’t always work out in OU’s favor, but Moser isn’t afraid of playing some top teams. At least the hope is those teams will be pretty good and resume builders down the road.
You can start feeling pretty confident in how the 2025-26 schedule is starting to shape up. A pair of top-tier games announced Wednesday.
OU announced the Sooners will play Marquette in Chicago on Black Friday (Nov. 28). OU scrimmaged Marquette before last season began.
Then CBS’ Jon Rothstein reported and SoonerScoop can confirm OU is headed to Spokane Arena to take on Gonzaga on Nov. 8.
Those two games are in addition to what was already previously known. The Sooners are heading to South Dakota to take on Nebraska on Nov. 15. And it’s back to the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City for Bedlam. OU and OSU will meet up Dec. 13.

This week is also all about the NBA Draft Combine as former stars Jeremiah Fears and Jalon Moore will be going through the process.
The question for Fears? How high will he go? ESPN’s latest mock had Fears at No. 5 and being taken by the Utah Jazz.
This week is pivotal for Moore to show everybody he belongs on the next level. A great showing in Chicago should be able to land Moore in the second round of next month’s Draft.
The OU schedule is not quite finalized yet, but you can tell the Sooners are working very hard to make sure they have a competitive schedule. By doing so, gives you just a little leeway to not be elite in conference play. We know the SEC is a grind, doing just a little bit better in November and December goes a long ways.
