Everybody feels incredibly confident about where the state of OU basketball is entering the 2025-26 season. Every single person.

Head coach Porter Moser and staff knocked it out of the park with the transfer portal class. It feels like it could be a very special and fun year on the court.

But it’s the SEC, and man, it’s still going to be an uphill climb. OU is picked 12th in the SEC preseason poll, released Monday morning.

OU is coming off making the NCAA Tournament for the first time under Moser. And also getting point guard Jeremiah Fears selected in the first round of the NBA Draft.

Momentum keeps on rolling in Norman.

To show you just how tough it will be, this is something OU has been bringing up repeatedly. Every single SEC opponent coming to Lloyd Noble Center made the NCAA Tournament last season.

Yes, the hope is that the LNC will be a raucous and crazy atmosphere in 2026. But it’s also to point out how dang competitive the league is set to be once again.
