The OU Board of Regents will vote on the approval of the design of the West Side renovations at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium at their meeting on Monday.

This is a project Oklahoma has been focused on since 2014, when it started the South end zone renovations. The West side renovations will be expensive, with the anticipated cost being $450,000,000, which is expected to be available from athletic department funds and private donations. But when completed, it’s expected to help OU generate more profit with new suites.

According to the agenda, this project will include: “the construction of 47 suites; 64 loge boxes with seating to accommodate approximately 280 persons; approximately 4,000 new club seats; and 6 club/lounge spaces for patrons seated in the suites, loge boxes and club seats. The project also includes a new expanded press box, a new sideline-oriented sports lighting system, and sound system enhancements.”

It also states in the agenda that OU hopes to begin construction following the 2027 season. This will obvious be a huge undertaking for the school. Below are the full details in the agenda.

Also included in the agenda is the approval of the construction company for Phase 2 of the L. Dale Mitchell Stadium renovations for the baseball program. The estimated total cost for the project is $41,700,000. OU has already begun construction on renovations in the outfield.
