R Mason Thomas with a scoop-and-score, leaves the game (hamstring)

OU defensive end R Mason Thomas came up with perhaps a game-saving play in the first quarter. But we’ll see if he can play the rest of the game.
Thomas recovered a fumble, stiff-armed a tight end and rumbled for a 71-yard touchdown return for OU at Tennessee to the game 7-7.
However, during the return, it appeared he injured his hamstring. He immediately went into the injury tent. Thomas has left the tent but has not returned to the game. ABC’s Holly Rowe reported Thomas is not expected to return to action.
It was Owen Heinecke who caused it all. Tennessee was driving to take a two-score lead when Heinecke came off the edge and smashed quarterback Joey Aguilar.

Thomas quickly recovered it and fought to stay on feet, to not touch the sideline and go the 71 yards. It is the longest scoop-and-score in OU program history.
Heinecke is starting in place of linebacker Kobie McKinzie. After being listed probable Thursday, McKinzie went to questionable Friday and a game-time decision Saturday.
McKinzie has not seen any action so far at Neyland Stadium.
The turnover is just the fifth for OU all season and just the third game for the Sooners to get a takeaway. OU is 2-0 in the games where it has forced a turnover.
