OU defensive tackles Damonic Williams, Jayden Jackson not expected to play vs. Kent State

OU is getting a lot of players back this weekend, but warmups suggested a couple of surprise absences.
Although defensive tackles Damonic Williams and Jayden Jackson are in full uniform, neither has gone through any pregame warmups.
It is a position that OU has built up extremely well. Expected starters will be David Stone and Gracen Halton.
However, this afternoon against Kent State will be an opportunity for a couple of other tackles to show what they can do.
True freshman Trent Wilson and third-year player Markus Strong will get plenty of opportunities against the Golden Flashes.
OU will see the season debuts for wide receiver Javonnie Gibson and cornerback Eli Bowen. And, of course, sophomore Michael Hawkins will be the starting quarterback.

This is the final week where OU will not be in a game without an availability report. The final seven games of the regular season will be against SEC competition.
Sources have told SoonerScoop the expectation is that both Williams and Jackson will be in the lineup next week against Texas.
Meanwhile, Kent State starting quarterback Dru Deshields is a healthy scratch. The Golden Flashes want to keep him healthy for MAC action later in the season. Do not want to jeopardize him, being overmatched by OU.
Mateer update
Of course, all OU eyes from this point forward will be on quarterback John Mateer. He was also in full uniform but still recovering from right thumb surgery last week.
Editor’s note: SoonerScoop will have full coverage of OU and Kent State throughout the day.
