OU has moved up one spot in the latest AP Poll.

The Sooners ranked No. 13 after an impressive road win over South Carolina on Saturday. Oklahoma played a complete game, beating the Gamecocks 26-7. It was arguably the team’s best win of the season, bouncing back after the loss to Texas.

“Incredibly proud of our team,” coach Brent Venables said on Saturday. “The courage, toughness that they responded with coming off a tough game a week ago. Loved the line of scrimmage all day. Really thought that was a big deciding factor in the game. We had a great rhythm today. Thought we ran the ball efficiently, better against a really good, tough front that was committed to stop the run.”

OU will have another big test this week, welcoming Ole Miss to Norman. The Rebels currently rank No. 8 in the country and are coming off a loss to No. 5 Georgia. Oklahoma opened as a 3.5-point favorite in several sportsbook for the game.

“Feel like this is a team that has been battle-tested this season, even going into today,” Venables said. “I think that was a great advantage for us, our guys didn’t flinch. They believed. As the saying goes, judge a man, a unit, at times when things aren’t going well. Everybody questioned the team a week ago. Our guys had the ability, maturity to block out that noise and focus on doing the things winning requires.

The energy, execution, physicality, great focus to them. Thankful to our players and just their determination today.”

As everyone knows, it’s only going to get tougher from here for OU. Below is Oklahoma’s remaining schedule, with all five games being against ranked opponents.

  • Oct. 25: vs No. 8 Ole Miss
  • Nov. 1: at No. 17 Tennessee
  • Nov. 15 at No. 4 Alabama
  • Nov. 22: vs No. 15 Missouri
  • Nov. 29: vs No. 20 LSU
