OU to face Texas, Missouri, Ole Miss as annual opponents

OU will face Texas, Missouri and Ole Miss annually for the next four years in football, according to On3’s Chris Low.
The SEC is expected to announce Oklahoma’s nine opponents for next season on Tuesday. But on Monday, Low reported each SEC team’s annual opponents for the next four seasons. After four seasons, those three opponents will be re-evaluated. Every SEC team is expected to host and visit each school during four years. The television show on Tuesday will provide matchups and sites for schools’ SEC games over the next four years. The dates of games for the 2026 season will be announced in December.

The Sooners were obviously going to draw Texas as one of its three opponents, as the conference wanted to respect rivalries. Missouri was another obvious one, as the Sooners and Tigers used to play annually in the Big 8 and Big 12 conferences.
Ole Miss is the one that is a tad odd for OU. The Sooners have no real connection to the Rebels. Many believed the third team would be either LSU, Florida or Arkansas. According to Low, “The priorities in creating the schedules were protecting traditional rivalries, competitive fairness, rotational frequency and ensuring a home and away balance with a Power 4 non-conference opponent for the 2026 season.”
